Applying to this pipeline requisition will put you in a candidate pool that will be viewed by technical leaders and recruiters for opportunities across the company.What will I do as Cybersecurity Intern?You ll work alongside MITRE engineers to design, develop, and implement solutions and technologies to address the greatest cyberspace challenges of our sponsors. You will be exposed to those with world-class expertise, innovation, and thought leadership to protect our government sponsors and promote their mission and operational success.From design to operations, you will learn to apply security engineering expertise, innovative concepts, and technology solutions to address every facet of our sponsor's cyber challenges in three key strategic areas: threat-based engineering, design recover and reverse engineering, privacy, resilience, cyber strategy, planning and design and in the development of novel cyber capabilities.What are examples of the projects that I might work on?+ Vulnerability assessment infrastructure for federal agencies primarily revolved around managing a vSphere lab environment+ Building next generation reverse engineering tools and approaches+ Performing a deep analysis of an operational system to understand limitations and weaknesses+ Reverse engineering specific power supply for faults and vulnerabilities+ Working on providing windows event data for a larger security project+ Editing and streamlining technical approaches and architectures, executive summaries, and practice guides for special publications on computer, cyber, and information security+ Supporting the ATT&CK team in building new techniques and processing cyber threat intelligence to add to the knowledge base+ Developing new adversary abilities in CALDERA to support adversary emulation on industrial control systemsWhat knowledge, skills and attributes does MITRE look for in students hired for Cybersecurity Intern positions?+ Pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science or related discipline; some High School level positions may be available; must be enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program the following semester+ Basic knowledge of cyber security principles, tools and devices, such as WireShark, ELK, and Splunk+ Experience working with design recovery, software analysis, and/or reverse engineering tools+ Proficiency in one or more of the following--Java, Python, XML, HTML, C#, Objective C; Database design & development including SQL+ Have cyber related experience gained from academic study and related intern/coop work+ Sustained excellence in academic performance+ High level desire to help their nation solve its most critical problems+ Exhibits the characteristics of a continuous learner+ Many of our jobs welcome those students who have an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving.Additional Information+ Clearance: Hiring requisitions for some roles may require a U.S. Government Security clearance.+ Salary: The salary below is the starting range for incoming freshman. Intern salaries are based on how much of their degree program a student has completed as well as other factors.This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Salary compensation range and midpoint:$31,500 - $39,500 - $47,500 Annual Subject to all federal and state laws, rules and regulations, MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
